The physical cultural heritage survey of the mtb trails at the You Yangs is now complete. The artifacts that have been found can be easily managed now we are aware of them. There are still some follow up reports that need to be produced but this week has been a very educational, positive experience and a huge step forward. The club now has the support of the Wadawurrung traditional owners who are very happy to see the mountain bike community enjoying and respecting their land. They have no problems with any of the mtb trails, and are happy to see volunteers continuing to maintain safe, sustainable trails. There is still some more paperwork the club needs to prepare for Parks Victoria before we can begin significant maintenance. The trail crew will be working through this over the coming weeks.Once the long term management plan is finalised, hopefully the weather has started to cool off and the ground has some moisture in it so the trail crew can start doing what they do best. Thanks to the Wadawurrung and Parks Victoria for working with the club to make this happen. ...
